Challenge: Where Is True Beauty Found?

“You were given life; it is your duty (and also your entitlement as a human being) to find something beautiful within life, no matter how slight.”
― Elizabeth Gilbert
What is beauty and where do we find it?
Is it in plain sight, tied to everything single thing in one way or another?
Is it special? Reserved for just a few well-constructed people, works of art, and natural phenomena?
Is it hidden between the lines, in the guts of people, or in the meanings that we personally assign to the world and things around us?
Is it illusive? Living only in the places we overlook everyday and lying always just beyond our grasp?
And what influences our perceptions of beauty?
Family? Society? Or is there an unlearned, innate determining factor that burns deeply within?
What is beautiful to you right now?
Look around the room at something or someone with new eyes.
Wander down one of the same paths you always walk stopping to absorb things and people that you would normally walk by.
What makes them beautiful?
I suppose as an idealist, I can find beauty everywhere if I chose to do so.
Where is true beauty found?
